Museum Re Opens

The Museum will re open on Sunday 9th August and then on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am until 4pm.

For visitors here are a few details of what we are doing and asking visitors to do to stay safe:


Please make your way to our new entrance on the west side o0f the building facing the car park where we ask that you provide us with a name and contact number for you and anybody with you. Our normal entrance will be for exit only.

Please use hand sanitiser provided at various points

Follow the direction arrows of our One Way System and minimise contact with other people using the Social Distancing Markers.

Please DO NOT TOUCH the exhibits and obey all NO ENTRY signs

Face coverings must be worn in line with Government requirements. Face coverings will be on sale at £1.00 each.

Museum doors will be Open to maximise ventilation.

Drinks and snacks will be available from the Tea Bar. Hot drinks will be served in reusable thermal bamboo beakers.

Socially distanced seating for tea bar customers will be provided outside the shop exit and on the Steamer Café Bus. The cab of the Steamer will be accessible.

Groups must stay together at all times whilst in the Museum. The children’s play area will not be in use as it is being used as a Voluteers room.
